once-on-this-island_jpg_380x380_q85Once On This Island is a Haitian adaptation of the Little Mermaid.  Approximately 100 students from Walsh worked together to bring this story to the stage. The story concerns a peasant girl on a tropical island, who uses the power of love to bring together people of different social classes. Once on This Island celebrates nature, love and the power of life and death.
Two judges from the Massachusetts Education Theater committee attended the performance. The Walsh musical has been entered in the state-wide Musical Theater competition.
The judges wrote some lovely comments like: “I can honestly say this production is one of the best executed Middle School productions I have ever seen. I kept having to remind myself this was a Middle school!”
“WOW! The energy on the stage was infectious.” Christine Kasparian  “TiMoune was exceptional.”
“The small ensemble gave a terrific professional sound for the large chorus. Not one note was out of place.”  Lauren Cochran
